APPEARANCE ••• T W O • D I V I D E D • B Y • Z E R O

O Two Divided by Zero está lançando o seu segundo álbum demo: Appearance.

00. Two divided by zero (intro)

01. USB crime fighting car
Faixa do Background remixada.

A baterias eletrônicas são a Yamaha RX-17 e RY-10, que são usadas na faixa Always on my mind/In my house e outras do álbum. A faixa tem varias citações a varias faixas desse álbum: Domino dancing , I'm not scared e I want a dog .

03. 198909
Ela soa um pouco como Reality e Try all you want do Electronic, ou qualquer faixa do álbum Technique do New Order.

04. Fine time
É praticamente um remix do clássico acid-house do New Order do álbum Technique .

06. Channel reaction 1986

09. Life is good (for no particular reason)

10. What would Vince Clarke do?/Situation.

11. Paissandu 808

The Two divided by zero is releasing its second demo album: Appearance. This work is the result of the translation of the music from Background, the previous album to a more live PA format. It's a continuously mix record which has several remixed tracks from Background, some covers and some unreleased ones. This album represents what the Two divided by zero is playing live in its PA's since the year 2004.

00. Two divided by zero (intro)
It's a joke about the fact the name of my project is inspired by the name of this track. It works very well as an intro. It appears almost exactly like the original, but I have applied some vocoder effects on it.

01. USB crime fighting car
Remixed track from Background. A straightforward electro with a bass line that recalls action movies and car chases.

02. Introspective
This track is a homage to the Pet Shop Boys album that have inluenced me so much. The drum machines are the Yamaha RX-17 and RY-10, the ones used in the song Always on my mind/In my house and others from this album. This track has several quotes about songs from this album: Domino dancing, I'm not scared and I want a dog.

03. 198909
Using the electronic drum machine from Roland, TR-909, this track, essentially a technopop, has a feeling towards the late 80's and early 90's. It sounds a little bit like Reality and Try all you want from Electronic, or any track from New Order's Technique album

04. Fine time
It's practically a remix of the classic acid-house track from New Order's Technique album. I have messed up with the arrangement sounds and the form of the track. I've given a less pop feeling, thus a more e-music one.

05. Miami boss Oberheim
The perfect blending of electro and technopop, with influences of miami bass. The drum machines used here are the Boss DR-220 and Boss DR-55.

06. Channel reaction 1986
Jamaican minimal dub meets the 80's. It mixes elements from Basic Channel and Chain Reaction record labels with the drum machines TR-606 and TR-626.

07. Ultraseven
Track from Background remixed in several aspects. It has turned into a more heavy and floor friendly track and has gained a break also. This is the version that appears in the brazilian's MTV compilation: AMP MTV Electrobreaks.

08. London-Rio flight connection 505
This one I have remixed in a lot of aspects too. It's got a more broken and heavy beat. This is a brit technopop revisited, whose drum machine was builded with sound from TR-505.

09. Life is good (for no particular reason)
Inspired on the tracks that are released by the The Hacker's label Goodlife, this track mixes a disco music sampled loop to build a techno/electro track with 80's elements.

10. What would Vince Clarke do?/Situation.
The first track I have written as Two divided by zero, but never released. It was a homage to Vince Clarke, half of both Yazoo and Erasure, analog synth wizard. For the Appearance, I have remixed the track and blended it with the 80's anthem from Yazoo: Situation.

11. Paissandu 808
The sunny and minimal track from Background turned into a dark and electro breakbeat. The drums are more broken and the keyboard lines harder.

12. Rent
Pet Shop Boys cover. I wanted it to have a Miss Kittin's Madam Hollywood feel. The synth riff from the intro sounds a bit like Kraftwerk in my opinion.

You can make your own copy of Appearance downloading the mixed set and also the cover art from the album. The .tif files are available here*:

*Some printers don't print back and front correctly, therefore we advise you to make some tests so the fitting of the two covers could happen in a satisfatory way. Another suggestion is to print one cover in each sheet and glue them together.
